Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology. An enormous organization that includes dozens of societies with links to conferences, journals, publications, and other sources of information.

Federation of European Microbiological Societies. Giant organizzation with dozens of member biological societies, encouraging joint activities, facilitating communication among microbiologists, supporting meetings and laboratory courses, providing fellowships, and publishing journals and books.

Journal of Experimental Marine Biology and Ecology. Publishes original papers within the broad field of marine and fisheries science, with particular reference to living resources and environmental processes. Formerly Journal du Conseil.

International Society for Applied Phycology. A non-profit organization aiming to promote research, preservation of algal genotypes and dissemination of knowledge concerning the utilization of algae.

International Society of Photosynthesis Research. Their goal is to encourage and promote the growth and development of photosynthesis as a pure and applied science, to facilitate the publication of topics relating to the study of photosynthesis, to organize the triennial International Congress on Photosynthesis, and to promote activities that foster international cooperation in scientific research and education.

Inter-Research Marine Ecology Progress Series. MEPS was the first comprehensive, integrated treatise on life in oceans and coastal waters. It's a worldwide forum for all aspects of marine ecology, fundamental and applied. The journal covers: microbiology, botany, zoology, ecosystem research, biological oceanography, ecological aspects of fisheries and aquaculture, pollution, environmental protection, conservation, resource management.

Journal of Phycology. Published by the Phycological Society of America, covering all aspects of basic and applied research on algae and cyanobacteria.

Journal of Plankton Research. Publishes papers dealing with both zoo- and phytoplankton, in marine, freshwater and brackish environments including ecology, physiology, and distribution.

New Zealand Microbiological Society. Information about the society, conferences, speakers, and the importance of microbiology in New Zealand.
