AIMS, research site based at the Australian Institute of Marine Science. Good sized site containing large amounts of information regarding their research as well as other marine life.

Balaton Limnological Research Institute. Site describes the research at this institute in Hungary.

Baltic Sea Portal (former). Monitors and relates information about phytoplankton and cyanobacterial blooms in the Baltic Sea at the Finnish Institute of Marine Research. Formerly the Baltic Sea Agl@line; Baltic Sea Portal content redistributed.

Bedford Institute of Oceanography. Canada's largest centre for ocean research. Basically, information about their institute and programs.

Geomar at the Institute for Marine Studies Kiel (IfM Kiel). Its purpose is to study biological processes in the pelagic ecosystem.

CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research. Conducting research in the sustainable use of Australia's marine resources, the ocean's role in climate, and the effective conservation of the marine ecosystem integrity.

Dauphin Island Sea Lab. An Alabama site that has its interests set in marine research and education. Extensive outreach programs.

Department of Marine Botany, part of the Botanical Institute, Göteborg University, Sweden and of the Göteborg Marine Research Center. Concentrates on research and education in marine natural sciences.

Landau Family Microalgal Biotechnology Laboratory at the J. NOAA Physical Sciences Division. Located in Colorado, NOAA performs oceanic and atmospheric research and develops remote sensing systems.

Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences, University of Miami. Mainly information about their program.

Sars International Center for Marine Molecular Biology at Bergen University in Norway. The major focus is on the molecular biology of marine animals, with emphasis on functional and ideally comparative studies.

Scripps Institution of Oceanography, Univ. California San Diego. Their goal is to seek, teach, and communicate deep scientific understanding of the oceans, atmosphere, Earth, and other planets for the benefit of society and the environment. Lists various projects in many different areas of study.

Seaweed Homepage, University College, Galway. Has information on all aspects of seaweeds and marine algal biology. Contains Algaebase which is a searchable database of algae. A venerable user friendly site.

Shoals Marine Laboratory run by Cornell and University of New Hampshire. Information about their program and studying marine science in their facility.

Checklist of phytoplankton in the Skagerrak-Kattegat. Has information on phytoplankton and heterotrophic protists found in the Skagerrak and the Kattegat, N. Atlantic Ocean. Contains, images, references, and information regarding diatoms, dinoflagellates, and other plankton.
