Saltwater Nutrient Agar (SNA) Medium

Nutrient agar (Oxoid CM3)*28.0 g
Filtered natural seawater500.0 ml
Or "Ultramarine" Synthetica sea salts**17.5 g
Distilled water to1.0 L
Steam for 30 minutes, ensure homogeneity, then dispense as required, autoclave at 15 psi and slope (tubes) prior to cooling.

2SNA (Saline Seawater Nutrient Agar):

NaCl35.0 g
Filtered natural seawater1000.0 ml
Or "Ultramarine" Synthetica sea salts*35.0 g
Distilled water to1.0 L
Mix constituents. Steam for 30 minutes, ensure homogeneity, dispense as required, then autoclave at 15 psi and slope (tubes) prior to cooling.

SNA/5 (Brackish Seawater Nutrient Agar):
Follow recipe for SNA, but use 200 ml filtered natural seawater per L and 800 ml distilled water per L.
