Spirulina on the Move

Spirulina on the Move

This video animation shows how the filamentous cyanobacterium Spirulina (likely labyrinthiformiss) moves in solution. The sample was collected along a beach in Normandy France. The filament is rotating along the longitudinal axis at a rate of approximately 20 rpm. The video should run about 25 seconds.
